GI JOE cartoon comarision
« on: October 11, 2010, 08:37:34 PM »
Okay so i finally found season 3 and 4 of GI JOE real american hero and i almost immediately hated what i saw.....these two seasons picked up after the movie and i noticed right of the bat that they changed ALOT of things from previous seasons and even from th e movie itself style...here is my analysis...and if i am correct, please lets discuss this.....that means you too christian!

1 - The animation style and voice acting went down hill, i mean WAY downhill.....the coloring and voices were way different in style and design than the movie was adn previous seasons....this was highly disappointing for me....I loved the movie and previous season designs for serpentor and his voice was just awesome.....and destro also looked differnt....he was golden and not his classic silver.....it aws all wrong!

2 - the opening song was different, now this may be due to issues im unaware of or maybe due to the new animation style, but they changed the song wording aroudn completely, it was no longer against cobra the enemy, it was just simply "a ruthless enemy" and it aws no longer real american hero.....it was "international heroes...." this too disapointed me.....

3 - the story telling for each episode was way off in comparison to the previous seasons and even the movie.....this was highly disappointing to me....as a fan of this series, it was worse than the 4th season of transformers gen 1....

these are the main issues i have with these two seasons.....

The only good thing about Season 3 and 4 is 'Operation Dragonfire' after that it's all downhill!

i noticed that as well, but i did somewhat enjoy the new openign and theme and animatin after dragonfire, becuase at least it was a fair attempt at fixig it,t he animation and opening credits for dragonfire were horrid......i mean international hero? really?! thats bull.....but still....it did seem to go downhill after DiC aquired the rights for it from sunbow or whoever was making it before......

DiC is Sunbow after Sunbow went all belly up. Dic and Sunbow were responsible for Transformers the animated Movie. And International Heroes was nothing new. In the UK, GI Joe was called Action Force and even had an Action Force International Heroes theme song.

The Action Force Toyline were just repaints of the American GI Joe figures and renamed in Action Force packaging.

the UK versino sucks in comparison ot the US version of the movie though, becuae the theme song for trhe american movie was just awesome! and now onto the next series of gi joe, whihc was one of my favorites even though it was short lived, it had good animation, good storyline and even a villain that was just awesome, and that is GI JOE EXTREME, i loved this series and although it had nothing to do with the earlier incarnation of GI JOE, it was still an awesome series

That started as a comic book first by Dark Horse Comics, GI Joe Extreme back in the mid-90's with covers by Frank Miller! It was 4 issues and had NOTHING to do with the cartoon that followed. However, Sgt. Savage has found his way into classic GI Joe cannon.

yes, i saw the transformer comci with savage and flynn in it! that was epic for sure! and i think it had dark claw and megatron in it too, but still that was one of my favorite cartoons of GI JOE next to the originals, although i must admit i had no idea it started as a comic book
