We all know it's been awhile but Todd McFarlane has assured MTV that plans to bring "Spawn" back to the animated world are still materializing and undergoing various animation and technology tests through different studios.
The main thing McFarlane assured everyone that the new series will still be for mature audiences and will contain the old show's dark tones and storylines.
"We're gong to a cable network, and that's their bread and butter." "They want stuff that isn't what you can find on ABC, NBC and CBS," he added. "They've covered that field. We have now an area where we can actually do shows that get a little grittier, a little darker, a little more risque."
"The three years [that 'Spawn'] was on HBO, it won an Emmy -- two of 'em -- for various reasons. They're going, 'Just give us what you're doing. You know what you're doing, just bring it over here and don't put it on their channel, put it on my channel.' So I don't think it's going to be an issue once we get down to it."
